TRI-COUNTY SPEEDWAY PARTNERS WITH ACE SPEEDWAY FOR JOINT LATE MODEL STOCK SERIES
1/28: Ace Speedway and Tri-County Speedway have reached an agreement to make the 2021 season the first for the Dual Short Track Showdown Late Model Stock Series.
Late Model Stock Drivers will have the opportunity to run for individual track championships as well as a championship by combining points between the two tracks on events designated as Dual Short Track Showdown points nights.
"A joint effort between Ace Speedway and Tri-County as well as sponsors(to be named) from both tracks are responsible for helping make this effort come to reality." Says Jason Turner. "I had the opportunity to run once at Tri-County in the summer of 2020 and had a blast. It was great to see how this track raced similar to Ace but had its own character that any racer should experience. After one race, I was hooked and knew a deal had to be possible to make something big happen for all the LMSC guys out there. Seeing Shad, Shane, Buddy, Chris and the rest of the Tri-County team work to rebuild Tri-County reminded me of a lot of the same challenges that Dad and I ran into. I knew they were the team for the job and would work well with us to promote such an endeavor."
We at Tri County Speedway look forward to working with Jason Turner and his Dad to give Late Model drivers an exciting program to go for in 2021. On the Tri County Speedway schedule the Dual Short Track Showdown races are labeled with an *. Late Model Drivers mark your calendars !!!
A Dual Short Track Showdown Points purse of $20,000 will be disbursed among drivers who make themselves eligible by participating in at least 10 of the 13 events. Both tracks have their own stand alone season openers before the Showdown points season starts. The Showdown points season is set to begin April 9th at Ace Speedway and will end on Saturday October 23rd at Ace Speedway for the 8th Annual Running of the Rodney Cook Classic.
Win both the Rodney Cook Classic and the Dual Short Track Showdown points and take home a whopping $17,000 payday.
